Olena Huseynova

Olena Huseynova is a writer, radio host, and radio producer. She has been an essential part of Radio Culture (Suspilne) since 2016, where she currently leads the literary and radio theater department while also serving as a radio documentary producer. Since February 26, 2022, she has taken on the role of a presenter in a continuous news radio marathon on Ukrainian Radio (Suspilne). Olena is a published author with two poetry books: "Open Rider" (2012) and "Superheroes" (2016). Currently, she is diligently working on her third poetry book, "Night Air," which is structured around the concept of a 12-hour overnight radio shift. In the spring of 2023, Olena was a writer-in-residence at the City of Literature in Tartu. She also explores the realms of essay and short fiction writing. Her works are featured in the anthology "Ukraine 22: Ukrainian Writers Respond to War," edited by Mark Andryczyk and published by Penguin in 2023. Her texts have been translated into English, Polish, Czech, Lithuanian, Estonian, Finnish, Slovak, and more.
