Gerda Blees (1985) published a short story collection, Aan doodgaan dachten we niet(We didn't think of dying, 2017), and a poetry collection, Dwaallichten (Ghost lights, 2018), which was shortlisted for an important debut prize in The Netherlands. Her debut novel Wij zijn licht (We are light, 2020) was awarded with the Dutch Booksellers' Award and the European Union Prize for Literature, and shortlisted for the Libris Literature prize for the best Dutch novel of 2020.
