British-Turkish novelist and political scientist whose work has been translated into 54 languages. Her novel, The Forty Rules of Love, was chosen by the BBC among ‘100 Novels That Shaped Our World’. She is an advocate for women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights and freedom of speech. Her most recent book is The Island of Missing Trees.
