Vadym Miskyi is a Ukrainian journalist and an expert in media and countering disinformation. Since 2015 he serves as a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (Suspilne). He also is the Program Director of the NGO "Detector Media", which is a leading Ukrainian think-tank in the field of media freedom and countering disinformation. During the early days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Vadym Miskyi launched a daily podcast / radio show on Ukrainian Radio to expose and debunk the most recent and resonant fakes of Russian disinformation, the program is still on-air and due to the radio coverage reaches the occupied territories. The show was awarded by national podcasters’ prize “Slushno” as the best journalistic investigation by the audience’s choice (2022). Since 2019, he led the Council for Freedom of Speech and Protection of Journalists under the President of Ukraine. He also served as the Head of Advocacy at the Reanimation Package of Reforms from 2016 to 2018, the largest coalition of Ukrainian NGOs, where he contributed to developing and advocating for important reforms after the Revolution of Dignity, including reforms in media regulation. Wrote in co-authorship a book about the creation of the Public broadcasting in Ukraine, awarded by the Ivan Franko Prize as the best scientific work in information field (2021). He holds a Master's degrees in Applied Math and Public Administration, and studying at MBA program, which helps him to approach issues of media management, reforms and countering disinformation with a balanced and analytical perspective.
