Victoria Belim is a Ukrainian writer, translator and journalist who was born in Ukraine and grew up in the USA. Belim studied at Yale University, where one of her teachers was the famous historian Timothy Snyder. In addition, she speaks 18 languages, which emphasizes her deep interest in world cultures. She is also actively engaged in translations, working on texts of modern Persian and Western literature. Her works focus on themes of family history, identity, and the impact of political events on personal destinies. She received international recognition thanks to her book "The Rooster House", where she explores her own family and the history of Ukraine through the prism of the Soviet past. Since 2010, she has been writing for the Financial Times magazine.
