Yevhen Shybalov

Yevhen Shybalov is a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, journalist, author of the book “Veteran's Tales”. Before the war, he worked as a correspondent for “Dzerkalo Tyzhnia” in Donetsk. Since 2022, he served as a rifleman-grenade launcher in the 241st Separate Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was in Russian captivity. After his return, he worked as the head of the Department of European Integration and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine. In September-November 2025, he was a participant in the Veterans Scholarship program at INDEX: Institute of Documentation and Interaction.
