Join us for the announcement of the winners of the unique literary award Zustrich: Ukrainian–Jewish Literary Prize 2025, which recognizes outstanding contributions to Ukrainian fiction dedicated to the past and future of Ukrainian–Jewish relations. The event will feature a presentation of the five shortlisted books, with participation from the authors, translators from Yiddish and Hebrew, and editors, who will share their perspectives on intercultural dialogue and contemporary cross-cultural relations.

This year, the jury will choose among a mystical thriller, a classic novel, memoirs, stories about Hasidim and Hasidism, and an anthology of works by 20th-century Ukrainian writers about Jewish compatriots. The discussion will also include jury members: Maria Henkin (New York), co-founder of the Ukrainian book club Razon Book Club in New York and of the volunteer movement supporting civil society Razom for Ukraine; the iconic Ukrainian writer and theorist of modern literary and philosophical trends Volodymyr Yeshkilev (Ivano-Frankivsk); and Ostap Slyvynskyi (Lviv), a prominent translator from Slavic languages and a member of the Ukrainian PEN leadership.
