Distribution and translation of Ukrainian literature abroad: presentation of the Chitomo project "Chapter Ukraine"

For decades, Ukrainian literature abroad has been in the shadow of Russian imperial discourse. However, now the number of translations of Ukrainian works is noticeably increasing, and foreign readers have the opportunity to free themselves from the narratives imposed by Russia, “decolonizing” their bookshelf. Chitomo presents the “Chapter Ukraine” project – an online platform that will facilitate the search for translations of Ukrainian literature in world languages, as well as become a guide to where and from whom to purchase these translations abroad.

The event will be attended by:

- Oleksandr Mymruk, head of the NGO “Chitomo”;

- Oleksandra Koval, acting director of the Ukrainian Book Institute;

- André Störr, founder of the German publishing house Friedrich-Mauke-Verlag.
