Submission period for the ‘Encounter’ literary prize opens
Ukrainian Jewish Encounter, a Canadian charitable non-profit organization and the NGO “Publishers' Forum” announce the start of the submission period for Encounter: The Ukrainian-Jewish Literary Prize ™. This year the Prize will be awarded in the non-fiction category.
Works may be submitted by publishers, book-related non-profit organizations and publisher’s associations. Non-fiction works published in 2018-2020 will be considered.
The application period will run between January 21– March 22, 2021 (deadline for submission).

The announcement of the Prize winner and finalists will take place during the 28th BookForum in Lviv, Ukraine in September 2021.
The Prize money is divided between the author and publisher: the author will receive 4000 Euros and the publisher 2000 Euros. Four (4) incentive awards will receive 250 Euros each.
The Prize is sponsored by the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter, a Canadian non-governmental organization, with the support of the NGO “Publishers' Forum”.
Founded in 2020, Encounter: The Ukrainian-Jewish Literary Prize ™ is awarded annually for the most influential work of fiction and non-fiction (alternately) that fosters Ukrainian-Jewish understanding, helping solidify Ukraine’s place as a multi-ethnic society and giving truth to UJE’s motto, “Our stories are incomplete without each other".
