Writer, artist, director, journalist, and soldier. He is the author of 15 books, including Three Medals in the Drawer, Hunters for Happiness, Monolith, I Saw Him Alive, Dead, and Alive Again, and With Love – Dad! In addition, Valerii co-authored the book Our Kitties and wrote the children’s fantasy Delphi and the Wizards. Valerii is a laureate of numerous literary competitions. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked as a screenwriter. He now serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Alongside his military service, he creates art projects – painting on ammunition boxes. His works are held in private collections in the USA, Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Argentina, France, Poland, Spain, Germany, Ukraine, and beyond. In 2024, he was included in the second-ever UP-100 ranking of Ukraine’s most influential leaders in the “Culture” category. The ranking lists one hundred Ukrainians whose ideas, work, and talent make a significant contribution to the independence and future of our country.
