Simon Shuster has been reporting on Ukraine and Russia for 17 years, most of them as a journalist for TIME magazine. He has covered Russia’s war against Ukraine since 2014, including reporting from Crimea after it was seized by Russian forces. In 2019, he interviewed Volodymyr Zelensky to understand his election strategy, and in 2021, traveled with the president to the front lines. After the full-scale invasion began, Shuster spent nearly a year with Zelensky’s team in Kyiv and went on to write The Showman.
