The (Un)translatability of wartime poetry
How does the approach to translation change when the text is not a conventional “poem” but a testimony drawn from the very hell of war? What translation strategies can convey wartime reality — from technical terms and concrete details to ideas nearly impossible to grasp for those without direct experience? The limits of acceptability in translating wartime texts and authors: interpretation, explanation, and additions. How does the act of translation itself shape the afterlife of these poems?
